Derrick L. Henry, a Daytona Beach native, was re-elected for his third term as mayor of the City of Daytona Beach, after easily winning with more than 50.1 percent of the votes in the Aug. 18, 2020, primary election against two challengers. He is the city’s 21st mayor since 1926. Mayor Henry’s priorities are improving the quality of life for residents, making the city friendlier to businesses, mentoring youth, upgrading the city’s aged infrastructure, addressing homeless, improving equity in the community and creating more affordable housing options.
