Derrick L. Henry, a Daytona Beach native, was re-elected for his third term as mayor of the City of Daytona Beach, after easily winning with more than 50.1 percent of the vote in 2020’s primary election against two challengers. He is the city’s 21st mayor since 1926. Mayor Henry’s priorities are improving the quality of life for all residents, making the city friendlier to businesses, mentoring youth and upgrading the city’s aged infrastructure, addressing homeless, improving equity in the community and created more affordable housing options.
