On Sunday, July 26, we celebrate the 144th anniversary of the city being incorporated! Thanks to the foresight of 23 residents who voted to incorporate the area along downtown Beach Street, the town of Daytona was born July 26, 1876. Many years later, Daytona Beach was created when the towns of Daytona, Seabreeze and Daytona Beach voted to consolidate in 1925. Much has happened since our incorporation. Today, the city celebrates its worldwide name recognition and has grown to more than 44,600 acres with 65,000 residents. We are proud of our rich history, diversity, growth and quality of our community. Watch our anniversary video and join us in celebrating this community we call home.
