At the July 15 City Commission meeting, commissioners approved the extension of the waiving of commercial and residential permit fees from Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, Aug. 21, as part of the city’s COVID-19 Assistance Recovery Effort (CARE) program. The waiving of the permit fees does not waive impact fees or the need to apply for a permit.
Previously, the permit fees had been waived for a 90-day period from March 25 through June 23. During the 90 days, a total of 1,771 permits were issued for a total valuation of $136.7 million. The amount of fees waived was $808,045.
