The public is invited to a neighborhood meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Suburbia Park to learn about a city project that involves the construction of a five-million gallon, pre-stressed concrete, potable water ground storage tank and high service pump station at 700 Heineman Street that will improve water quality, pressure and fire flow in the surrounding area. This site was previously used for an elevated storage tank, which has since been removed. The proposed project site includes construction of a new tank, pump station building and generator in the field on the western portion of the site to accommodate the continued use of the eastern portion as a park. Suburbia Park is located at 700 Heineman St. in Daytona Beach.
Construction on the project is expected to start in mid-2021 and will take about a year to complete.
