The nearly century old Daytona Beach Pier and its fishing section on the eastern-most side has reopened after undergoing repairs to the damaged substructure caused by Hurricane Dorian. The $1.1 million project replaced and repaired cross bracing and decking as well as installed supportive “collars” on piles under the pier’s east end.
The fishing pier is open from dawn to dusk seven days a week. There is no cost and fishing licenses are not required.
