Residents can get updated city information three times a week on two different local radio stations.
The city is sponsoring two shows each week on WELE-AM Radio, also known as 1380 “The Cat.” Listeners can tune in at WELE-AM 1380 and online by visiting www.1380thecat.com. The mid-day program is called "Free Your Mind” and airs every Tuesday and Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. It is hosted by former Daytona Times Publisher Charles W. Cherry II and features up-to-date city news, as well as information on happenings in the community.
Daytona Beach Radio continues to air from noon to 1 p.m. every Wednesday on JOY 106.3 FM. Hosted by Dr. L. Ronald Durham, the city’s community relations manager, this weekly program provides timely and interesting discussions about projects and initiatives happening in our local community. Listeners can tune in at 106.3 FM, online at www.joy1063fm.com or by using the TuneIn radio app on smartphones and tablets. The radio program is also broadcast via Facebook Live from the city’s Facebook page - @DBCityNews. Listeners can call in to (386) 516-8030 or watch the show on Facebook and ask questions about the day’s topic.
