Getting around the Daytona International Speedway during Speed Weeks and the Daytona 500

Hundreds of thousands of people will be in and around Daytona International Speedway through the weekend for the annual series of events and races, culminating with the Daytona 500, which begins at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16. Motorists should be aware that there will be special traffic patterns implemented to help with the flow of traffic. Motorists should follow @DBPDTraffic on Twitter for updates on traffic information.

Traffic patterns for the races Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be the same for the following events:

Thursday, Feb. 13
Bluegreen Vacations Duels at Daytona
Race Times: 7 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 14 
Next Era Energy 500
Race Time: 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 15
NASCAR Racing Experience 300
Race Time: 2:30 p.m.

Expect heavy congestion and no traffic restrictions on the following roads:

  • International Speedway Boulevard/U.S. 92 (ISB)
  • I-4: Please use the Beville Road/S.R. 400 exit to reach Clyde Morris Boulevard, then head north to access Richard Petty Boulevard. Speedway parking lots will be located west on Perry.
  • Richard Petty Boulevard
  • Williamson Boulevard between Beville Road/S.R. 400 and ISB. Parking lots west of the Speedway can be accessed via Williamson Boulevard.

POST RACE:

Expect heavy congestion and no traffic restrictions on the following roads:

  • International Speedway Boulevard/U.S. 92 (ISB)
  • Jimmy Ann Drive from Volusia Mall to Mason Avenue

Expect heavy congestion and traffic restrictions on the following roads:

  • Bill France Boulevard: May be one-way traffic north from West International Speedway Boulevard to Mason Avenue. Access from Mason Avenue to Clyde Morris Boulevard may be restricted.
  • Clyde Morris Boulevard: Southbound traffic will be restricted at LPGA Boulevard. Northbound traffic will be restricted at Jimmy Ann Drive and forced to use Bill France Boulevard.
  • Dunn Avenue: May be restricted to local traffic only between Clyde Morris Boulevard and Williamson Boulevard.
  • Fentress Boulevard: Southbound turns may be restricted at Mason Avenue. Business traffic will be accommodated.
  • I-95: Northbound traffic may be blocked from using the exit ramps at LPGA Boulevard (Exit 265) and Granada Boulevard/S.R. 40 (Exit 268). If so, use the U.S. 1 exit near Destination Daytona (Exit 273). Southbound traffic will not be affected.
  • LPGA Boulevard: Eastbound traffic from ISB will lead to lengthy delays beyond Champions Drive.
  • Richard Petty Boulevard: May be one-way traffic east to Clyde Morris Boulevard. Drivers must turn right from Richard Petty Boulevard onto Clyde Morris, then continue west on Beville Road or go south on Clyde Morris to access I-95 or I-4.
  • Thames Road: All traffic leaving Volusia Square Mall will be sent south on Thames Road to Williamson Boulevard.
  • Williamson Boulevard: Southbound traffic may be restricted at International Speedway Boulevard.

Sunday, Feb. 16
Daytona 500
Race Time: 2:30 p.m.

PARKING LOTS:

  • Daytona Beach International Airport: Race fans can leave east via Richard Petty Boulevard and then south on Clyde Morris Boulevard for easy access to the interstates.
  • Fentress Boulevard: Users of the Best Buy parking lots may exit the west gate onto Bayless Boulevard to access Fentress Boulevard or Williamson Boulevard.
  • Volusia Mall Parking: Traffic may exit north to Mason Avenue via Bill France Boulevard. A one-way traffic pattern may be in effect to Mason Avenue, at which point drivers can go east or west on Mason Avenue. Traffic can also leave east on ISB/U.S. 92 through the main entrance/exit at ISB/U.S. 92.

PRE RACE: 

Expect heavy congestion and no traffic restrictions on the following roads:

  • International Speedway Boulevard/U.S. 92 (ISB)
  • I-4: Please use the Beville Road/S.R. 400 exit to reach Clyde Morris Boulevard, then head north to access Richard Petty Boulevard. Speedway parking lots will be located west on Perry.
  • Richard Petty Boulevard
  • Williamson Boulevard between Beville Road/S.R. 400 and ISB. Parking lots west of the Speedway can be accessed via Williamson Boulevard.

POST RACE:

  • Beville Road: Westbound traffic is urged to take Beville Road/S.R. 400 when possible instead of ISB/U.S. 92 to avoid heavy traffic in the vicinity of the Speedway.
  • International Speedway Boulevard/U.S. 92 (ISB)
  • Jimmy Ann Drive from Volusia Mall to Mason Avenue
  • LPGA Boulevard: Eastbound traffic from ISB will lead to lengthy delays beyond Champions Drive.

Expect heavy congestion and traffic restrictions on the following roads:

  • Richard Petty Boulevard: May be one-way traffic east to Clyde Morris Boulevard. Drivers must turn right from Richard Petty Boulevard onto Clyde Morris Boulevard, then continue west on Beville Road/S.R. 400 or go south on Clyde Morris Boulevard to access I-95 or I-4.

  • Williamson Boulevard: Southbound traffic will be restricted at International Speedway Boulevard. One-way traffic southbound from the Speedway’s Gate 40 to Beville Road/S.R. 400.

Votran Public Transit
Speedweeks will bring heavy traffic to Volusia County, and Votran riders should expect numerous delays, interruptions and route deviations. Detours will be in effect Thursday, Feb. 13, through Sunday, Feb. 16. Detours may change without notice when traffic becomes congested, rerouting buses to secondary roads.
