The Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) is asking for the public’s help in tracking down a 26-year-old man wanted for shooting a 38-year-old man in the head during an argument.
Terrell Kevon Jones (pictured) is a convicted felon who investigators believe used a firearm to shoot Dewayne Gaddy early yesterday morning (February 7, 2020) inside the victim’s residence at the Mt. Carmel Apartments on 372 North Lincoln Street.
Investigators were notified of the incident around eight hours after it occurred, prompting investigators to respond to the Mt. Carmel Apartments shortly afterward.
Once there, detectives discovered that Jones and his girlfriend – 27-year-old Geneiva B. Reeves – attempted to clean up the crime scene with the use of bleach and also tried to dispose of evidence by throwing it into a communal garbage dumpster at the Mt. Carmel Apartments.
DBPD’s Crime Scene investigators managed to recover that evidence from the dumpster and also found more evidence of what happened inside the apartment, which is also listed as Reeves’ address.
Reeves is now in custody on a charge of accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder. She’s been booked at Volusia County Jail.
Gaddy was discovered by investigators nearly 12 hours after the shooting inside a Winnebago parked in the backyard of a home on Jefferson Street. He was found with a gunshot wound on his forehead.
Paramedics transported Gaddy to Halifax Health Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
DBPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jones on charges of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Jones is a black male who stands around 6’1 and weighs around 195 pounds. His last known address is in Daytona Beach. He is considered armed and dangerous.
We’re asking anyone who knows where Jones is to please contact Detective David Dinardi immediately at (386) 671-5219 or DinardiDavid@dbpd.us regarding Case 200002441.
