On Saturday, October 26, students, alumni and supporters of Bethune-Cookman University will celebrate homecoming activities with a parade at 9 a.m. and culminating when the B-CU Wildcats host the South Carolina State Bulldogs, in a MEAC conference game, at Daytona Stadium, located at 3917 LPGA Blvd. at 4 p.m. This will be the 13th meeting between South Carolina State and B-CU. The Wildcats lead the series, 7-6.
PARADE INFORMATION:
Beginning at 9 a.m., Daytona Beach's Police Department will provide traffic control at intersections throughout the parade route, which begins on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd., behind the Daytona Mall, and ends at the practice fields on B-CU's campus. Major roadways that intersect with Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd. (Nova Rd, Lincoln St. and Dr. M.L. King Blvd.) will be closed to cross traffic and detours will be in effect for up to 45 minutes.
FOOTBALL GAME INFORMATION:
Daytona Beach Police Department will provide traffic control on West International Speedway Blvd and LPGA Blvd. before and after the game, which kicks off at 4 p.m. Inbound traffic is expected to begin immediately following the parade, from about noon to 4 p.m. Once the parking lots at Daytona Stadium are filled, fans will be redirected to Father Lopez Catholic High School, which is across from the stadium.
Non-event traffic is strongly encouraged to use I-95, Williamson Blvd., Clyde Morris Blvd. or other routes to avoid traffic delays.
