Detectives are looking for help in finding the suspect who stabbed a man outside a lounge on Seabreeze Boulevard earlier this week with a pocket knife, sending him to the hospital.
The initial call for help came in at 3:17 a.m. Monday (August 26), sending first responders to the front doors of the 509 Lounge (509 Seabreeze Boulevard), where they found the victim with a stab wound on the left side of his stomach.
The victim was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center from the scene, where he underwent surgery for the wound. He’s expected to recover fully.
The victim told officers he was standing outside of his vehicle, which was parked directly in front of the lounge, when a white-colored sport utility vehicle (SUV) pulled up and parked near his vehicle.
Two men – including the suspect – got out of the white SUV and approached the victim, demanding the keys to the victim’s vehicle. When the victim said he didn’t have the keys, the suspect called him a liar while the other man – who was driving the white SUV – attempted to punch the victim in the face and missed.
It was at that point when the victim said the suspect got closer to him and he felt a sharp pain in his left side. The suspect then told him “that’s what you get” and the victim then noticed the suspect had a pocket knife in one of his hands.
The suspect then threw a foam container filled with food at the victim before he and the driver of the SUV got back inside that vehicle and fled westbound on Seabreeze Boulevard.
Investigators have found video of the suspect and the driver at a nearby pizza restaurant hours before the attack. It’s now posted on our social media pages.
The SUV driver has since been identified by detectives. No arrest has been made at this time.
Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to contact Detective Michael Jaeger by email or at (386) 671-5245.
