Daytona Beach is bringing the best Motown tribute bands to the area for the fourth annual Midtown Motown Concert Series. The concert series offers free performances of some of the best Motown tribute bands on the second Saturday of the month through November. Concerts will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cypress Park at the Midtown Cultural and Education Center located at 981 George W. Engram Blvd. in Daytona Beach.
Saturday, Sept. 14: The Blues Brothers Tribute – Showtime is 7 to 9 p.m. General admission is free. The Blues Brothers Soul Band tribute is a high energy powerhouse performance of a show. There is enormous variety in the songs performed, from soul to blues and the Stax/Volt rhythm and blues. The sets are superb and the whole production is something that must be experienced by everyone.
Food and drinks from local vendors will be set up at the park during the concert series. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs, and no coolers will be allowed. The Cypress Aquatic Center pool will also be open and have free admission from 7 to 9 p.m. The Midtown Motown Concert Series is sponsored by the City of Daytona Beach, AdventHealth, VITAS Healthcare, U-Store and Krispy Kreme.
