Every Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. – children between the ages of 5 to 7 years old will have the opportunity to come to the Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural and Educational Center for an hour of literacy activities. Kids will have fun while building on their reading skills as we bring in guest authors and retired educators, go on field trips and have themed parties to get the kids excited about learning.
Youth who participate will be asked to have a goal of reading two books a month, and there will be special goodies to reward them for their participation. In addition, assistance in other academic areas is available.
Our focus is to help teach our young children to love reading and learning. For more information, please call (386)671-8203.
