Students, alumni and supporters of Bethune-Cookman University will celebrate homecoming activities Saturday, Oct. 14, starting with a parade at 9 a.m. and culminating when the B-CU Wildcats host the Tigers of Texas Southern University in a SWAC conference game at Daytona Stadium at 3 p.m.
Parade DetailsBeginning at 9 a.m. from the rear of the Daytona Mall, parade participants will travel east on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Blvd. to the practice field on B-CU’s campus. The following intersections will be closed to all traffic during the parade: Nova Road/MMB, Lincoln Street/MMB and Dr. MLK Blvd. and detours will be in place.
Football Game DetailsInbound traffic is expected to begin immediately following the parade and be heavy from about noon to 3 p.m. Once the parking lots at Daytona Stadium are full, traffic will be redirected to Father Lopez Catholic High School. Pedestrian crosswalks will be in place. One-way traffic patterns will NOT be in effect on LPGA Blvd.
Daytona Beach Police Department will provide traffic control on West International Speedway Blvd. and LPGA Blvd. after the game, which kicks off at 3 p.m.
Residents in LPGA Boulevard neighborhoods should expect significant delays in the area. People are strongly encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid traffic.
