The final public hearing for the FY 2023/24 property taxes and budget for the City and Daytona Beach Downtown Development Authority will be at the Sept. 20 City Commission meeting
The proposed $332.6 million budget is based on an operating millage rate of 5.4300, the same millage rate adopted in fiscal year 2022-2023.
This millage rate results in $43,851,696 in budgeted property tax revenues, or $8,075,816 per mill. New construction makes up 4.79% of the taxable value of property in the city.
In the proposed budget, there are two, new funded positions in the Public Works department for street sweeping operations.
