Being part of our community is a mission Daytona Beach’s Police take seriously. One way our public safety personnel introduce themselves to citizens is through an annual event known as National Night Out. Join the fun from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at the Julia T. and Charles W. Cherry Sr. Cultural & Educational Center. Participants can enjoy free food (while supplies last), music, games, bounce houses, K-9 demonstrations, vehicle tours, information about the city’s crime prevention resources and fingerprinting for kids.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
