Starting Monday, June 5, crews are performing system maintenance on hydrants from 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. in several areas including:
- International Speedway Boulevard to Beville Road and Nova Road to the Halifax River
- Beville Road from Williamson Boulevard to Clyde Morris Boulevard
- Dunn Ave and side streets from Clyde Morris Boulevard to Nova Road
- Clyde Morris Boulevard north of Strickland Range Road and east along Hand Avenue to Nova Road
- Sixth Street and side streets from Jimmy Ann Drive to Nova Road
Each hydrant in the targeted areas is being tested and flushed, which is important to maintain the integrity of the water system to ensure the highest quality water possible to our customers. In most cases, residents will not notice any changes to their water service during the testing procedure; however, due to varying velocities and flow rates in the water system, customers may experience a slight water coloration. If this happens, cold water faucets should be opened for a short time until the water runs clear. This discoloration is not a health hazard; however, it can cause laundry staining. Hydromax USA is the company performing the annual maintenance and will be easily recognizable in uniforms and marked vehicles. For more information or if you have questions about your water, call (386) 671-8815.
