The city sponsored Midtown Music Concert Series is underway at Cypress Park in Daytona Beach. The best bands in the area will be playing in the concert series that will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cypress Park on select Saturday nights through Sept. 16. Concerts are scheduled for:
Saturday, July 15: Divas of Jazz
Divas of Jazz is the vision of Grammy Award-winning pianist/keyboardist/producer Jeanine McAdams. Members include Joela Santil (bass), Kisha Pugh (drums) and Alex Bodytko Shaw (woodwinds). These ladies of distinction in music and entertainment have performed and recorded on national and international stages, television, Disney and Universal and toured with Broadway shows. These multi-talented musicians are also renowned composers, producers and music educators, performing various genres of music including pop, classical R&B, contemporary, country, Christian/gospel and jazz. Their international tour includes Club 606 and The Jazz Café, London. The Divas also will be performing at the Alabama Jazz Festival.
Saturday, Aug. 19: Chris McNeil
Born and raised in Central Florida, Navy veteran Chris McNeil grew up surrounded by music. His pride for where he comes from is woven into his meaningful lyrics, while the soulfulness gained singing in the church choir comes across in each note he sings. His feel-good music blends a laid-back, small-town vibe with melodies that can always get a party started.
Saturday, Sept. 16: Franchise Players
The group, featuring Andrew Luv, blends elements of soul, pop, smooth jazz, hip hop and more for a unique and refreshing musical experience.
Attendees can enjoy free Line Dancing with Eddra before the concert from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Food and drink vendors will be onsite during the concerts. Attendees can bring their own lawn chairs. No coolers are allowed. Cypress Park is at 981 George W. Engram Blvd.
