As part of maintaining the sanitary sewer lines, Insituform Technologies, a city contractor, will be in multiple neighborhoods lining sewer pipes starting Monday evening. Crews are working on the following days and streets:
- Monday, Jan. 24 – 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Halifax Avenue between Main Street and Harvey Avenue
- Tuesday, Jan. 25 – 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Clyde Morris Boulevard (on the west side of the road just north of International Speedway Boulevard)
- Wednesday, Jan. 26 – 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. – Marion Street
- Thursday, Jan. 27 – 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. – Magnolia Avenue and Marion Street
While the work is being performed, as a precaution residents should pour one gallon of water down all floor drains and any rarely used sinks, bathtubs, and toilets to ensure that a water barrier is maintained in the traps. Impacts to residents during the rehabilitation include temporary traffic rerouting, noise typical with construction projects and temporary sanitary sewer service interruption. To avoid possible sanitary sewer backup, please use utilities minimally.
Residents in the area have been notified of the maintenance work. Residents with questions can call (386) 671-8816.
Insituform Technologies specializes in utility underground cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining, which is a trenchless rehabilitation method used to repair existing pipelines. It is a jointless, seamless pipe lining within an existing aging pipe.
