The Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) is actively looking for a man who stabbed another man to death during a dispute over a woman.
Officers arrived on the 200 block of Weaver Street soon after Volusia County dispatchers received a call for help at 10:00 this morning (October 28, 2021), finding the victim lying on the ground in a parking lot with multiple stab wounds in his stomach.
First responders transported the victim to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment, but he passed away upon arrival.
DBPD’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) believes the suspect used a knife during the attack and left the scene on foot before officers arrived. The suspect was last spotted heading north on Walnut Street towards Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard.
The suspect is a dark-skinned man with long black dread-locked hair who may be in his mid-30’s. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt and dark-colored shoes.
DBPD has not been able to positively identify the suspect at this time.
Anyone with information about this matter is urged to contact Detective Collin Howell right away at (386) 671-5257 or HowellCollin@DBPD.us regarding Case 210020007.
