City Manager Deric C. Feacher is hosting a walking tour along Beach Street on Nov. 18, starting at 9 a.m. at Bethune Point Park, 11 Bellevue Ave., and ending at Fairview Ave. Residents and business owners are encouraged to join him.
Thursday, Nov. 18 - Route for walking tour
9 a.m. - Starting point is Bethune Point Park
Proceed west along Bellevue Road to Beach Street (0.30 miles)
Proceed north on Beach Street to Fairview Avenue (1.70 miles)
Accompanying the city manager will be key staff members who will help identify where businesses can grow, locate code issues and discuss how the city can best position itself as a destination of choice. The collective team will provide feedback from their professional perspective on, “What can be done to help an area be more successful?”
During the walking tours, staff will also talk with property owners, residents and concerned stakeholders who want to provide insight on what is working and what is not working in their communities.
The tour on the Beach Street will be the manager's third walking tour. The first was on Nov. 4 and traversed major corridors in the Midtown area. The second was Nov. 10 along beachside's Main Street and Seabreeze Blvd.
The walks are another example of the city manager’s commitment to removing bureaucratic barriers and improving community engagement.
“We encourage residents and business owners to come and join us,” Feacher said. “Together, we are all part of the solution to improve the economic viability and quality of life in our city.”
The walking tour will include senior staff from the City Manager’s Office, Development Services, Economic and Redevelopment, Code Enforcement, Planning, Zoning, Permits and Licensing, Public Works, Leisure Services, Utilities, Police and Communications.
