[ARCHIVED] Three Arrested Following Drug Bust At Beachside Apartment

POP raid 210013961 488 x 450

For the second time this month, the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit of the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) arrests three people on narcotics charges after various drugs are found at a beachside property.

43-year-old Sean P. Reynolds, 41-year-old Jamie L. Keegan and 39-year-old Brandon L. Garner were all found inside an apartment at 101 South Peninsula Drive soon after officers served that warrant just before 8 o’clock Friday night (August 6, 2021).

The raid came after a Volusia County judge signed that warrant. It was based on investigative work done after officers received complaints of drugs and stolen property being stored inside that apartment, according to POP Unit Supervisor Captain Scott Lee.

“Our patrol officers did great work initially by recovering some stolen property taken during a car break-in in the area,” Lee noted. “The POP Unit took it from there. Telling us about unusual behavior can help clean up the trouble spots. We definitely appreciate and encourage tips like that from the public.”

Officers found 6.8 grams of methamphetamine inside the apartment, most of it inside a plastic bag tucked inside a case which was stored inside a closet.

Various kinds of drug paraphernalia – including plastic baggies and a digital scale with drug residue on it – were found in the apartment, which was where Reynolds and Garner were living. Investigators also found seven cell phones and various other items which had drug residue on them.

Keegan – a Palm Coast resident – is charged with felony narcotics possession after officers found a cigarette box lying on the living room couch which had Alprazolam pills inside.

Reynolds faces three felony charges, including narcotics possession, selling narcotics within 1,000 feet of a house of worship and violating his probation for drug trafficking.

Garner is charged with misdemeanor possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

This is the eighth such raid conducted by the POP Unit since last December.

13 people in total were charged following raids at a home on Braddock Avenue last week, a home on Live Oak Avenue last April, a home on Goodall Avenue last March and a home on Ribault Avenue last January

15 people in total were charged in the two raids at the Best Southern Sun Plaza Motel and the raid at the Camellia Motel.
