Deric Feacher, 44, was selected to become Daytona Beach’s next city manager at the special City Commission meeting.
The employment contract for the new manager was approved at the April 7 City Commission meeting and is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 1.
Feacher will replace retiring City Manager Jim Chisholm, who has served the city for nearly 17 years. Feacher, a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, has 20 years of senior level experience working in local government. He was selected after a national recruitment and selection process which involved feedback from community members. Feacher lists his strengths as strategic planning, organizational management and development, collection problem solving, interpersonal relations, team building, community relations fiscal management and communications.
