The history of the Daytona Beach Fire Department is featured in an exhibit at the Halifax Historical Museum. Now through Oct. 31, guests can view the exhibit with memorabilia and equipment highlighting the department’s history dating back to the late 1800s through modern day.

 Notable items on display include:

  • Photos from 1898, the oldest items on display
  • The fire department’s call log book from 1926
  • Authentic, vintage firefighter uniforms

Typically, many of these items are on display at Fire Station #1 (301 S. Beach St.), the second oldest active fire station in Florida, and Fire Station #7 (2545 LPGA Blvd.).

The museum is located at 252 S. Beach St. and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Museum admission is $7 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Thursday's admission is by donation, and Saturdays children under 12 can visit the museum for free.
