Reclaimed Water

Reclaimed water, also known as reuse water, is non-potable water which, following a high level of treatment, is made available for irrigation purposes (City Code Sec.98-171).

The City of Daytona Beach operates a reuse system that may provide an alternate source of water at a reduced rate for irrigation needs.

Standard in-ground irrigation systems can be used to apply reclaimed water to your property. Reuse water is carried through a water distribution system in purple pipes. The purple color distinguishes these pipes from potable water pipes. Reuse water meters also are purple and valves in the reuse system are set in square, rather than round, boxes.
