Emergency Medical Services

EMS at workMission

The EMS Division of the Daytona Beach Fire Department provides superior patient care while being leaders when it comes to technology in pre-hospital care. Under the direction of our training division, the department is always looking toward the future for innovative ways to provide the highest quality service to the citizens and visitors of Daytona Beach.

Service

The EMS Division responds to 85% of the call volume using seven advanced life support (ALS) fire engines and three rescue trucks staffed with licensed Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). The training division ensures that personnel are highly trained by delivering:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Advanced invasive procedures courses

The Daytona Beach Fire Department also has an ALS competition team to showcase our skills while competing against other agencies around the world.

Special Events

In addition to the coverage provided to the citizens and visitors of Daytona Beach, the EMS division provides EMS stand-by care at local football games, concerts, and special events. Please take a look at our unique Motor Medic Team that provides advanced life support services during special events.
