Campbell Aquatic Center
*Improvements are being made to the Campbell Aquatics Center at 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. An announcement when the pool opens will be posted at www.codb.us.
Campbell Aquatic Center is at 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Daytona Beach. This gem in the heart of Daytona Beach has recently undergone a series of improvements.
- A new entry point has been constructed on the north side of the existing facility, which increases connectivity between the Dickerson Community Center and the pools. New stairs and an ADA-compliant ramp to enter the pool area, sidewalk, and two oversized canopy shade structures over new picnic tables have been added.
- The improvements were funded in part by a grant of $139,386 from the Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities District. The city is pursuing additional funding opportunities to renovate and expand the restrooms and remodel office space into storage rooms.
- During the construction, the pools were also resurfaced. The improvements are part of a multi-phased approach for upgrading amenities at the popular pools, which host about 35,000 swimmers each year. In recent years, a geothermal heater was installed to allow for year-round use.
