Mayor's Fitness Challenge
Overview
Mayor Derrick Henry and the City of Daytona Beach are committed to residents' health and well-being. Whether you’re already fit or you want to learn how to get fit, join us as we get moving together.
The Mayor's Fitness Challenge will take place from Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Saturday, March 26. The first session is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Midtown Community Center, 925 George W. Engram Blvd., and will feature a weigh-in as well as further information regarding the 10-week program. Registration is only $20 per participant. Classes will be at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. every Saturday during the program. *There is a virtual option available for participants. A link will be provided before the first class.
The healthy program features a schedule of fun activities for adults of all ages and fitness levels. Bi-weekly sessions include activities like yoga, Zumba, line dancing, strength training, walk/runs and a variety of other indoor and outdoor activities. There will be a weigh-in at the beginning of the program and again at the end to track results and the man and woman who lose the most weight while completing the program. Prizes will be awarded to those who lose the highest percentage of weight. Additional prizes will awarded.
