Pedestrian Improvement Plan
Pedestrian safety considerations make having sidewalks a desirable feature where pedestrian traffic is present.  There is significant pedestrian traffic year round throughout Daytona Beach’s residential and commercial areas.  Because sidewalks were not created when many of the city’s streets were originally constructed, these areas are identified on the city’s list recommending eligible sidewalk projects. It will benefit all residents, including children, seniors and persons with disabilities.

Factors for selecting sidewalk priorities include ADA issues, right of way availability and connectivity to local schools and commercial centers.

The City of Daytona Beach will allocate $12.9 million to improve the pedestrian features on the eligible list of sidewalks.
