Youth invited to participate in Mayor’s Literacy Initiative

the goal of inspiring children to develop a sustained interest in reading and math.

Youth between the ages of 5 to 7 years old are invited to participate in the Mayor’s Literacy Initiative, which meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at the Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural and Educational Center (YSG), 1000 Vine St. This free weekly program offers fun activities, themed parties, field trips and more to help inspire children to develop a sustained interest in reading and math. To register youth for the program, stop by the city’s Leisure Services office in City Hall, which is at 301 S.
