Our Daytona Beach: A Citizens Academy

The City of Daytona Beach offers a citizens academy to help familiarize residents with the functions of city government. The nine-week program offers hands-on and interactive sessions giving residents insight into a variety of municipal services. Each session is three hours, on Tuesday mornings, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The next class will begin Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

This program is free of charge.

During the program, senior city staff will conduct sessions about their respective departments including:

  • Utilities
  • Public Works
  • City Clerk
  • Leisure Services
  • City Manager's Office
  • Finance
  • Police
  • Fire
  • Code Enforcement
  • Human Resources
  • And more

The next class will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
